The “Career Turnaround” Game: A New Career Guidance Tool for Women in Dnipro

🔹Due to the war, many women have found themselves needing to start their professional careers over. At the same time, a lack of self-confidence, gender stereotypes, and fear of change often pose just as much of an obstacle as the lack of jobs.
🎯That is why Inga Tagunova, head of the career guidance sector at the Dnipro branch of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Employment Center, after completing training on the “Career Turn” game organized by the NGO “Association of Women Abmassadors of Ukraine” as part of the project “Women’s Participation in the Labor Market: Personalized and Gender-Sensitive Employment Services” (Skills4Recovery), immediately implemented this new tool into her work.
🧩Over the course of two months, she conducted two game sessions for members of the “Find Yourself” Women’s Club. A total of 14 women participated, analyzing their strengths, exploring career opportunities, and learning to recognize their own potential free from the influence of stereotypes.
🎯The results were immediate: after the game, four participants decided to pursue further training with the support of the employment service and received certificates for their training.
“The game creates a safe space where people can better understand their capabilities, overcome internal barriers, and make bolder decisions regarding their professional development,” says Inga Tagunova.
This story shows that sometimes it is precisely a new approach to career guidance that helps women take the first step toward a new profession, and confidence in their own abilities becomes the starting point for real change.
