Teaching New Skills—Empowering Women in the Labor Market

As part of the project “Women’s Participation in the Labor Market: Personalized and Gender-Sensitive Employment Services” in Kharkiv, at the Regional Center for Vocational Education in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Service Technologies of the Kharkiv Region, training sessions were held on “Mastering the Interview Simulation Tool and Interpreting Its Results” and “Establishing and Implementing Women’s Communities.”

📚 Participants not only gained new knowledge but also practiced using tools they can directly apply when working with female clients.

During the training, they mastered:
🔹 a methodology for modeling and simulating job interviews, which helps prepare clients for real-life employment situations;
🔹 facilitation and communication skills for conducting consultations and providing constructive feedback;
🔹 tools for developing self-presentation skills, building confidence, and overcoming common barriers during job searches;
🔹 scenario cards for handling challenging and discriminatory situations during job interviews;
🔹 principles of gender-balanced and non-discriminatory counseling;
🔹 approaches to creating and developing women’s communities as spaces for professional and career support for women.
Importantly, upon completing the training sessions, participants received handbooks with practical tools they can apply in their daily work.

After all, high-quality employment services are not just about helping people find jobs. They offer an opportunity to support women in building confidence, developing professional skills, and overcoming barriers on the path to economic independence.
