Training in the Baryshiv community

The Baryshiv community held a training session on information literacy: “Manipulation in the media and verification of information.”
Over two days (July 17 and 18), a free training session was held in the village of Baryshivka for women and girls who are internally displaced persons, as well as elderly people. This event was not only educational, but also a warm platform for communication, support, and unity.
Sincere thanks to trainer Nadiya Slukhai for her professionalism, warmth, and simple language about complex issues. Nadiya is the leader of the Baryshivka Community Media Literacy Club and has been working for many years to improve critical thinking in the community. Her support and sincere desire to help were felt every minute of the training.
During the training, participants:
analyzed how manipulative headlines work,
learned how to verify information and facts,
talked about digital hygiene and online safety,
and, just as important, listened to each other, got to know each other, and shared experiences.
This is not just about the media — it is about safety, confidence, and unity in times of change. It is especially important to hold such meetings for women who have been forced to leave their homes and for older people who find it most difficult to navigate the information environment.
Such events inspire, provide knowledge, and open new horizons. Most importantly, they create stronger communities where every person feels valued and protected.
