Representatives of the Association of Women Ambassadors of Ukraine participated in the conference “How does war change the roles of women in the labor market?”, organized by the World Bank Office in Ukraine as part of the SPIRIT program, which is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (#FCDO), and the Ukraine Recovery, Reconstruction, and Reform Trust Fund (#URTF).
The event brought together government officials, representatives of the civil sector, and business leaders to discuss the barriers that prevent women from fully realizing their potential in the labor market:
social norms
limited access to childcare
legal loopholes
lack of opportunities for retraining
It is important for us to attend such events, as they allow us to gain a deeper understanding of the policies, trends, and decisions that affect the lives of women in Ukraine — in particular, female veterans, IDPs, and community leaders.
We thank the organizers for their valuable analytical and practical experience. We continue to work to ensure that every woman in Ukraine has not only the right, but also real opportunities for development and decent work.
