Strengthening the capacity of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises led by women through the development of digital skills and training in grant proposal writing

As part of this project, the NGO “Association of Women Abmassadors of Ukraine” launched a comprehensive support program for women and girls who are starting, restarting, or growing their own businesses amid the war. The organization provided training, mentoring, hands-on work on business ideas, and preparation for participants to secure funding.

The program combined the development of entrepreneurial competencies with practical skills in using digital tools, business planning, preparing grant applications, project management, and building emotional resilience. The training was structured according to the “from idea to implementation” principle, which allowed participants to immediately begin working on developing their own business projects.

More than 50 women entrepreneurs took part in the program, which consisted of 12 training modules. The final stage was a two-day “She Builds” ideathon, for which 25 participants were selected. During the ideathon, they worked with mentors to refine their business concepts and presented them to a panel of experts.

As a result of the program, the participants strengthened their entrepreneurial and digital competencies, gained practical skills in preparing grant applications and securing funding, and became part of a professional community that continued to collaborate after the program ended through mentoring support, professional knowledge sharing, and mutual assistance.
