Meeting with Tamar Tavartkiladze

🤝 Specialists from the Zaporizhzhia Survivor Relief Centre held a meeting with Tamar Tavartkiladze, an advisor to the Office of the United Nations System Coordinator for Peace and Development.
✔️ During the meeting, they discussed the challenges currently faced by people who turn to the Center for help, as well as the specific nature of the work carried out by organizations in frontline regions.
🙌🏻 Special attention was given to supporting male and female veterans—providing support at all stages of rehabilitation, reestablishing contact with family, and facilitating reintegration into society following injury or captivity. The Center’s social workers shared their practical work experience and discussed future plans for supporting children and adults in their interactions with male and female veterans.
Among the main issues people are facing today are emotional burnout, exhaustion, anxiety, and a loss of faith in the future. The issue of domestic violence was also discussed during the meeting. While the number of such cases temporarily decreased at the start of the full-scale war, the problem is now escalating again, especially among internally displaced families.
❗️At the same time, a major challenge remains the lack of awareness among women about the availability of free psychological, social, and legal assistance in cases of domestic violence. That is why the Center’s team continues to work on improving access to support and raising awareness among those who need it.
✔️ The Zaporizhzhia Survivor Relief Centre continues to provide comprehensive, long-term support to those affected, standing by them during the most difficult periods of their lives.

🖇 The Survivor Relief Centre in Zaporizhzhia was established on the initiative of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, with the support of Kateryna Levchenko, the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy, in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine (UNFPA Ukraine), thanks to financial support from the governments of Austria, Belgium, Spain, and Sweden, and in cooperation with local authorities and the NGO “Association of Women Abmassadors of Ukraine.”
