📍 In July, the team at the Survivor Relief Centre in Kyiv continued to provide comprehensive psychosocial support to people affected by the war, working both in the capital and during outreach visits to communities in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions.
⚙️ The Center’s specialists conducted psychological counseling sessions, group sessions, and informational events; developed partnerships; and created safe spaces where people can receive support, rebuild their inner strength, and not have to face their experiences alone.
One such gathering was the event “Family as a Source of Strength: Support, Trust, and Safety” in the village of Gogoliv for families of missing defenders and people who survived the occupation. Participants discussed the role of family in recovery, mutual support, trust, and ways to maintain psychological resilience under prolonged stress.
In a de-occupied community in Chernihiv Oblast, the Center’s team conducted a group psychological session focused on processing difficult emotions. In a safe space, participants had the opportunity to share their experiences, receive support, and strengthen their inner resources.
✅ In July, the Center’s team also:
– conducted an interactive psychological game called “Code of Resilience,” aimed at developing skills and identifying conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV);
– launched a psychological club for women’s recovery and mutual support, combining creativity with psychoeducational work on conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV);
– organized a session for children titled “Safe and Dangerous Secrets,” during which a child psychologist helped children learn to recognize dangerous situations, protect their personal boundaries, and seek help;
– hosted a screening of the documentary “Who Are We?”, which served as a platform for open dialogue and reflection on our shared experience of identity as Ukrainians;
– participated in a roundtable discussion titled “Resilient Communities: Unity, Safety, and Humanity” in Obukhiv, where participants discussed support for male and female veterans, women’s safety, mental health, and the development of cooperation between civil society organizations and government agencies;
– held a working meeting with the leadership of the NGO “Nehemiah” regarding the implementation of an outpatient rehabilitation program for survivors of conflict-related sexual violence at the Kyiv Center for Social Services;
The Center’s team continues to identify cases of conflict-related sexual violence and other human rights violations, providing survivors with comprehensive assistance, psychological support, and referrals to necessary services.
