Development of organisational capacity of the NGO “Association of Women Ambassadors of Ukraine”

The project is aimed at developing procedural manuals for teaching educational and mentoring programs according to the “recover2empower” approach.

In 2021, the organisation held a strategic session, which resulted in a 5-year action plan and the development of its own model for economic empowerment of women, including those from vulnerable groups. However, with the outbreak of war, all activities were suspended as Kherson was occupied and Mykolaiv and Kharkiv became frontline cities. Therefore, the activities of the local offices were reoriented to provide humanitarian aid and support during the evacuation. The work was resumed only in 2024. In May, a strategic session was held to revise and adapt the existing strategic plan to the new realities. As a result of the carried out work (surveys of the target audience and community representatives, monitoring of the implementation of government programs, etc.), the methodological approaches of previously developed educational and mentoring programs were found to be inconsistent with the current realities of socio-economic development and the needs of the target audience.

This is especially true for the renewal and development of skills and knowledge to increase the economic empowerment of women, including those from vulnerable groups.

The strategic planning also revealed the need to develop a communication strategy and visibility of the organisation as a key driver for building the lost community of women ambassadors and expanding the organisation’s services throughout Ukraine.
