Representatives of the Association of Women Abmassadors of Ukraine participated in the Forum on the Development of Systems to Prevent and Combat Violence

On August 27, 2026, a forum was held in Kyiv on the development of national and local systems to prevent and combat domestic and gender-based violence. Representatives of the Association of Women Abmassadors of Ukraine participated in the event.
The forum served as a platform for professional dialogue among representatives of government institutions, municipalities, civil society organizations, and international partners on how to strengthen systems for preventing and combating gender-based violence in Ukraine.

☑️ Special attention was paid during the event to the resilience of local systems amid full-scale war, interagency cooperation, service accessibility, professional development of specialists, and partnerships between communities and civil society organizations. Discussions also focused on responding to conflict-related sexual violence and the emerging needs of communities.

For AWAU, participation in such events is important, as effectively combating violence requires not only high-quality services for survivors but also systematic work at the community level, the development of professionals’ capacities, and the pooling of efforts by the state, civil society, and international partners.
It is also important that the Forum’s practical sessions included tools for developing local systems, the role of communication in changing social norms, and the economic empowerment of women as one of the components of community work.
