Training workshops entitled: Domestic and Gender-Based Violence: I KNOW, I PREVENT, MAKE A DIFFERENCE

In June, the ‘Association of Ukrainian Women Ambassadors’ held three two-day training workshops entitled ‘Domestic and Gender-Based Violence: I KNOW, I PREVENT, MAKE A DIFFERENCE’, which took place on 15–16 and 17–18 June in Lviv, and on 24–25 June in Kyiv.

The participants included representatives of women’s, veterans’ and youth organisations and spaces, as well as initiative groups working with young people, veterans and their families. All of them were selected through a competitive process as part of the project ‘Supporting initiatives to change social norms to prevent domestic and gender-based violence’.

📝 Over the course of two days, the participants worked on topics relating to the prevention of domestic and gender-based violence, examined in detail common myths and stereotypes that influence society’s perception of violence, and analysed social norms and behavioural patterns that contribute to its tolerance. Participants learnt about successful Ukrainian and international practices for combating violence, discussed real-life case studies, and worked in groups to identify effective solutions and approaches. Particular attention was paid to developing communication, advocacy and community engagement skills, as well as mastering practical tools for driving change and implementing their own initiatives at a local level.
