On November 25, the Ukraine-wide action “16 Days Against Violence” has started.

On December 7, 1999, the UN General Assembly proclaimed November 25 as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. On the same day, the international campaign “16 Days Against Violence” began, which is held annually in Ukraine from November 25 to December 10. Its main goal is to draw public attention to the problems of combating domestic violence, gender-based violence, child abuse and human trafficking.

As a sign of support, the participants tie orange ribbons around their clothes. This is the official color of combating domestic violence, symbolizing a bright and cruelty-free future.
Indifference to an assault on another person, especially one committed within the family circle, must be eradicated from our society forever. Tolerating this shameful phenomenon is unacceptable.
The Constitution of Ukraine proclaims a person, his or her life and health, honor and dignity, inviolability and security to be the highest social value.
