Experts of the Association of Ambassadors of Ukraine created an ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT GLOSSARY, which was presented at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University

The Glossary was presented by Olga Veselovska and Hanna Radionovska as part of the International 16 Days Against Violence campaign at the event “Let’s reveal the truth about violence”. Professors and students present at the event joined the discussion of the Glossary, noted the expediency, usefulness and convenience of using the electronic edition of the Economic empowerment glossary.

📖  The Glossary is available on our website at https://w-ambassadors.org.ua/aktualne/.

The Glossary is created for a wide audience of readers. Its purpose is to expand the conceptual apparatus, outline the tools and mechanisms used by economically empowered women or women who have embarked on the path to economic independence. It is divided into 3 parts: gender, psychological, and economic aspects.

Ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men is one of the most important factors in achieving sustainable development, as well as a condition for building a legal and democratic state in which human rights and freedoms are guaranteed and ensured.
In our opinion, knowledge of gender terminology, understanding of the gender perspective and integration of the gender approach into socio-economic processes will help to consider the needs and interests of women and men belonging to different population groups in the processes of recovery and development of the state.

We also understand that economic empowerment is impossible when a woman’s mental health is in an unsatisfactory state, as in order to be self-realized in a profession or business, one must have an internal resource, so a separate section of the Glossary is devoted to psychological terms.

The final part of the Glossary reveals the phenomena of economic empowerment, professional and entrepreneurial development and introduces readers to economic terms that we have “heard somewhere” or use in everyday life, but do not always understand their real nature.

The Glossary is written in easy language and illustrated with examples to present and clarify terms. The Glossary is not a fixed document and is constantly being updated.
